On September 15, 2020, a meeting between teachers and students of grade 2020 is held on the Xueyuan Lu campus. Associate Dean Xu Wenming takes the chair. All faculties of the school of Law and Economics, all students of grade 2020, and some students of grade 2019 and grade 2018 attended the meeting.
Associate Professor Xu Wenming, on behalf of the school, welcomes all the students of grade 2020, and introduces the basic situation of the School. Subsequently, the freshmen of grade 2020 introduce themselves and express their expectations for the next three years. The teachers of the School also put forward requirements and suggestions to these freshmen. Professor Tao Xi, Professor Zhang Qing, Associate Professor Xu Wenming, Associate Professor Gui Binwei, Assistant Professor Li Wenjing, Assistant Professor Xu Shudan, Assistant Professor Chi Shunyu, and so on, put forward suggestions for the freshmen about making plans, learning methods of law and economics, reading classic literatures, learning course, researching scientific, and improving comprehensive quality, and so on, hope that the students will make an early plan that suits their own conditions and put them into action. The teachers also suggest that the students should concentrate on reading, think deeply, and cultivate critical thinking; read a large number of professional literatures to understand the classic theories of law and economics; participate in scientific research projects actively to improve academic research capabilities; seize the opportunity to study abroad and go to international organizations, broaden an international vision, continuously enrich themselves, improve the overall quality, and complete study with a rigorous and serious attitude.
Later, Xing Yu, a representative of the master students, shares her own experiences on studying and living of the postgraduate, studying and communicating abroad, social internships and so on. She hopes that students would take the entrance to the graduate school as a new departure, follow their inner dreams and persevere in struggle, grow up in trial and error, grind in frustration, and achieve success in the postgraduate stage.
After the meeting, Assistant Professor Li Wenjing guides the students of Grade 2020 in the course of "Selected Readings of Classical Literature of Law and Economics". The School also organizes the mutual selection of postgraduates and instructors.
